- Publication record: At least 5 papers in UGC‑recognised journals, with a minimum of 3 published while serving as an Assistant Professor.

If any of the above criteria are not met, the application will be rejected outright.

2. Collect Required Documents
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – up to 4 pages, clearly segmented (personal details, education, experience, research, teaching, supervision, administrative duties, awards, professional memberships).
- Cover Letter – 1 page, stating the job title, where you found the vacancy, and a concise summary of why you fit the role.
- Academic certificates (Bachelors, Masters, PhD) – photocopies of originals, clearly legible.
- Service letters confirming the duration of Assistant Professor and any other academic positions held.
- Proof of age (birth certificate or national ID).
- Publication list – separate document, ordered chronologically, indicating journal names, impact factor (if applicable), and your contribution. Highlight the three papers published during your Assistant‑Professor tenure.
- Two recent passport‑size colour photographs (plain background).
- Any additional certificates (teaching‑methodology workshops, language proficiency, research grants, etc.).

3. Tailor Your CV to the Job Description

Teaching
- List all undergraduate and graduate courses you have taught that are relevant to English, English Language and Linguistics.
- Provide brief course outlines, teaching methods used (e.g., blended learning, labs, seminars), and any innovations introduced.

Research & Publications
- Emphasise work that aligns with the department’s focus (e.g., applied linguistics, literary studies, sociolinguistics).
- Mention collaborations with national or international universities, funded projects, and conferences where you presented.

Administrative & Service Contributions
- Detail any committee work, curriculum development, examination duties, workshop organisation, or accreditation activities.

Supervision
- Include numbers of theses, dissertations, and project works supervised, noting completed and ongoing supervision.

Professional Development
- Cite any workshops you have conducted, seminars you have attended, or certifications obtained in teaching or research methodology.

4. Prepare Supporting Statements

a. Teaching Statement (≈ 800‑1000 words)
- Philosophy of teaching, methods adopted, assessment strategies, technology integration, and evidence of student learning outcomes.

b. Research Statement (≈ 800‑1000 words)
- Overview of past research, current projects, future research agenda, and how you intend to involve graduate students and foster inter‑university collaboration.

c. Vision for the Department (≈ 500‑700 words)
- Proposals for new courses, curriculum revision, research clusters, community outreach, and ways to raise the department’s national/international profile.

5. Formatting Guidelines

- Use A4 size paper, portrait orientation.
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt for body text, 14 pt for headings.
- Line spacing: 1.5.
- Number all pages, include your name and the job title in the footer (e.g., “John Doe – Associate Professor – English”).
- Save each document as PDF; file names should follow the pattern: “Firstname_Lastname_Document.pdf” (e.g., “Ayesha_Khan_CV.pdf”).

6. Submission Process

Hard‑Copy Option
- Assemble the documents in the order: Cover Letter, CV, Teaching Statement, Research Statement, Vision Statement, Publication List, Certificates, Photographs.
- Staple or bind with a single binder clip; do not use glue or tape.

Email Option
- Compose an email to facultysearch.2021@gmail.com.
- Subject line: “Application – Associate Professor (English) – [Your Full Name]”.
- In the body, write a brief greeting, state you are attaching the required documents, and thank the committee for consideration.
- Attach all PDFs (maximum combined size 10 MB).
- Request a read‑receipt or follow‑up if you do not receive acknowledgement within 3 business days.

*Both the hard‑copy and email versions can be submitted; ensure the same documents are included in each.*

7. Follow‑Up After Submission

- Mark Dec 31 2025–Jan 10 2026 on your calendar to check for any acknowledgement emails.
- If no response, send a polite inquiry to the same email address, referencing your application and the date of submission.
- Keep copies of all correspondence for future reference.

8. Interview Preparation (if shortlisted)

- Review the department’s current curriculum, recent research outputs, and any strategic plans available on the USTC website.
- Prepare a 30‑minute teaching demo on a topic within your expertise; incorporate interactive elements and assessment strategies.
- Bring printed copies of your CV, research and teaching statements, and a list of three referees with contact details.

• Managing large undergraduate classes vs. small graduate seminars.
• Experience with UGC documentation and compliance.
• Plans for building national/international collaborations.
• Supervision style for theses and dissertations.
- Dress in formal business attire and arrive at least 15 minutes early.

9. Additional Tips

- Obtain three strong reference letters (preferably from senior faculty familiar with your teaching and research).
- Verify that all publication details match the UGC‑recognised journal list; keep URLs or DOIs handy.
- If you have any language proficiency certificates (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL), include them as supplementary evidence of your English command.
